Youth and Children Program

Youth and Children are a critical component of our Peace Initiative.

UGPF engaged youth in her programs from inception. The Board of Trustees has a youth representative who’s the voice of the Youth in the community.

Through this, they take a front row in our activities as seen in their participation in 2017 pre-election peace activities.

Uasin Gishu County and Kenya at large has a youthful population. They represent the future of our County and Country.  They therefore are engaged in the peace forum and are socialized as peace builders early.

The youth engage fellow youth in enrolling them at peer level to participate in the peace processes as seen in our campaigns.

Their proposals and activities are supported by the Forum to achieve our Vision for the County.

UGPF will work with schools and churches in championing and supporting peace programs for the children.

UGPF is keen in localization of UNSCR 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security. The Resolution views youth as important stakeholders with a vital contribution in peace processes through five pillars of participation, protection, prevention, partnerships, and disengagement and reintegration; acknowledging the need to actively engage young people in issues of peace and security as the large youth population presents a unique democratic and demographic dividend that can contribute to sustainable peace in the world.

UGPF is a key supporter of Amani Clubs in Uasin Gishu County. An NCIC peace initiative running in Schools (http://www.cohesion.or.ke/amani/). We took a supportive role towards its re-launch in the County in February 2019.
